The last
several years have been particularly challenging for our clients.
The local market remains extremely difficult for job seekers. More
than 175,000 Bay Area residents are still out of work, and at least
25,000 of them are in San Francisco. Many have been unemployed more
than six months - some for over two years.
Yet,
with help from people like you, JVS maintains a stellar record of
placing highly motivated people in good jobs. Last year alone, some
738 people found jobs through JVS programs, with the average hourly
wage of our adult job placements exceeding $16. Many thousands more
depended on our employment search resources. JVS serves an incredible
range of people, including displaced workers, career professionals,
youth with disabilities, synagogue members, newly arrived refugees,
and more.
JVS
is the right investment because we transform lives and communities
through the power of work. This is why we have been passionately
committed for many years. Please join us in continuing the JVS tradition
of Tikkun Olam - to repair the world - one individual, one triumph,
one job at a time.
