resources in the JVS Technology Access Center (TAC)

The
Technology Access Center (TAC) is a state-of-the-art computer facility
and resource library designed to assist you with your job search
and/or computer skills improvement.
JVS
faces the tremendous challenge of closing the technology gap and
bringing disadvantaged individuals into the 21st century. Computer
access and training are the first steps.
The
Technology Access Center is dedicated to empowering our community
to use technology to improve their lives. Using the TAC, our community
can increase their skill levels and knowledge, making them better
able to pursue high-paying employment. Ultimately, the TAC works
toward equipping community members with the technology skills that
it takes to achieve a new or better job.
TAC hours:
Monday
through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
The TAC provides computers with:
- High
speed Internet access
- Microsoft
Office Suite
- Tutorials
in all of the Microsoft Office applications
- Tutorials
in Multimedia (FrontPage, HTML, Photoshop)
- Resume
writing software
- Scanner
and zip drives
- Career
exploration software
- Basic
skill-building software
- Hundreds
of online classes
We also provide:
- Office
services (faxing, photocopying) to assist with your job search
- A
library of print resources
- One-on-one
assistance from employment technology experts and basic skills
instructors
- A
wide array of workshops on computer
use and job search strategies
How do I access the TAC?
The
TAC is available to all Bay Area residents looking for a new
job and/or wanting to improve computer skills. You can purchase
a Resource Card for a $10 monthly fee that allows you access to the computer, office, and print resources. You may
also be eligible for a free or reduced rate Resource Card if
you are enrolled in another JVS program, including Career
Coaching and Advising, or if you are being referred
by certain agencies.
For

are held every Wednesday at 1pm. No registration is
required. Orientations are located at 225 Bush Street,
