The JVS Bank Services Training prepares people with disabilities for bank teller and entry-level customer service positions at banks and other financial institutions. The eight-week course includes training by JVS instructors, employer participation, and individual job search and retention assistance.
The program offers instruction in the following areas:
- Financial Services (including Introduction to the Financial Services Sector, Bank Teller Training, and Customer Service and Sales)
- Job Search Skills (including Organizing Your Job Search, Applications, Resumes and Cover Letters, and Interviewing)
- Computer Skills (including Microsoft Windows and Word, and the Internet and E-mail)
You can participate in this program if you meet all of the following criteria:
- you have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act
- you are 18 years or older
- you have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- you can pass a background check for felony convictions
- you successfully complete a one-week assessment period
The enrollment process for the program includes a written application, an individual interview, and a one-week assessment period.
Orientations are offered for interested participants and agency providers. Individuals must attend an orientation session to enroll in the program!
