Some ways volunteers are involved at JVS include:

English conversational partner: Help an émigré improve their confidence, English comprehension and fluency by conversing with them about a wide variety of topics.

Mock interviewer: Provide support to JVS clients and help them improve their interviewing skills to succeed in today's marketplace.

Guest Speaker/ Field trip host: Speak to high school students, host a field trip, and /or speak with adult clients on-site at JVS regarding your own career and/or give tips on interviewing and other elements for success!

Resume/Cover letter consultant: Assist clients in creating resumes and cover letters and help them reach their career goals.

Career advisor: Provide informational interviews to job seekers, or share your career expertise in industry advisory committees and at classes, workshops, and job fairs.

TAC Assistant: Volunteers have the chance to offer one-on-one assistance to clients using the JVS Technology Access Center. Help clients gain new computer skills and conduct an online job search.

Advisory committee member: Volunteers are involved in many committees throughout JVS to provide input, advice, and support for programs.

Help "behind the scenes": Volunteers can assist with administrative or computer support, program planning, etc. The possibilities are numerous!
