With the challenges of these past few years, careers in healthcare are one of the few areas that have continued to grow in the Bay Area. Now is the perfect time to get started in a career that you care about and where you can advance and thrive in the years to come.

If you are unemployed and previously worked in a healthcare profession, we can help!  We offer job search assistance with a healthcare focus. Or, if you are interested in starting a new healthcare career, we can get you started!

For Fall 2011, we are currently recruiting for the following programs:
  • Personal Care Giver Training - Programs start in July, August, September, October and November 2011
  • Home Health Aide for bilingual Chinese and English speakers - Program starts in August 2011
  • C.N.A. for bilingual Spanish and English speakers - Program starts
    in August 2011
  • Medical Assistant – program is offered Fall 2011

For Spring of 2012, we will be offering the following trainings:
  • Personal Care Giver Training

  • C.N.A. for bilingual Spanish and English speakers
  • Phlebotomy Trainings
  • Medical Administrative Assistant
  • C.N.A. training w/ CCSF which starts in January of 2012

The Health Care Academy is co-coordinated and offered by JVS and San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) in partnership with Arriba Juntos, Self Help for The Elderly, UCSF, Bay Area Medical Academy (BAMA), and City College of San Francisco (CCSF).
