| San Francisco Program JVS in collaboration with the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) offers a successful 11-week, 3 day/week training program for Registered Nurses, trained either in the United States or abroad, who need a refresher course or a nursing skills brush-up to reenter the nursing field. The 2010 summer cycle is being made available as an employment retraining program via the JVS Health Care Academy to eligible San Francisco residents interested in refreshing their RN skills to reenter the nursing field. | The RN Refresher Program is funded by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the Bernard Osher Foundation, the Mt. Zion Health Fund, the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, and the City and County of San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development. |
East Bay Program JVS in collaboration with Chabot College and Alameda County Medical Center offers a successful 10-week, 4 day/week Immigrant Nurse Re-Entry Program (INRP) for Registered Nurses who were trained abroad and are facing barriers to employment in the U.S. The 2010 summer cycle is being made available as an employment retraining program through the Gold Foundation, the Bay Area Workforce Funding Collaborative, and other East Bay funders who recognize that foreign-educated nurses face many barriers to finding employment upon arrival to the U.S. Therefore, the class is geared toward foreign-educated nurses who have not yet practiced as RNs in the U.S. and who live in the East Bay.
