“The supportive atmosphere and the fact that I am helping people who might otherwise have a harder time in their job search, is what I enjoy most about volunteering in the TAC,” says Nathaniel. Every Wednesday, Nathaniel comes in with his large cup of hot chocolate and runs the volunteer desk. He engages with job seekers and helps them navigate the online job application process, create cover letters and resumes, and do anything else that will benefit them in their job search. Technology Access Center Assistant The Technology Access Center (TAC) is a community computer facility and resource library for clients looking to improve their computer skills or search for a job. Volunteers help clients grow confident and self-sufficient with computers.
English Conversation Partner Brush up on your grammar by practicing English with our clients who are non-native speakers. JVS clients speak more than a dozen languages.
Computer Class Assistant Our Computer Skills Training gives job seekers hands-on training and instruction on the computer skills that employers demand. Workshops include such software as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
