Kohn Summer Intern Program

Summer 2023 Update:

The Kohn Summer Intern Program will not be running in Summer 2023.

After thoughtful deliberation, we have decided to use this year to partner with the Jewish community to redesign the Kohn internship program for future years. Though we regret that we cannot move forward with the internship program as intended in Summer 2023, we’re excited to offer a reimagined program that better suits the needs of young Jewish community members and our fellow Jewish communal organizations in the near future. We look forward to continuing the program’s powerful 38-year legacy and thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please contact Simone West, Director of Development, at [email protected]

Internships for Jewish College Students

The Kohn Summer Intern Program is a paid professional development and networking program for Jewish college students in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Currently in its 37th year, the program has molds the next generation of Jewish leaders by pairing undergraduate college students with internship placements at local Jewish nonprofits in fields that include marketing, human services, and political advocacy.

The 8-week program, running from June 21 – August 11, 2022, offers participants the opportunity to:

  • gain valuable work experience
  • build leadership and professional skills, such as time management, organization, business writing, workplace communication, project management, meeting facilitation, and more
  • participate in weekly educational and skill-building seminars
  • receive mentorship from Jewish community leaders
  • develop an effective resume and gain confidence in networking and interviewing
  • learn and work with collaborative communication tools: Slack, Outlook, Google Docs, Sharepoint, and others
  • join the Kohn Alumni Professional Network and develop relationships with likeminded interns

JVS will place you at amazing organizations, such as:

Program Eligibility
