What is TechSF?
TechSF is a workforce initiative funded by the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development that provides access and educational opportunities to jobseekers and then connects those talented individuals to technology jobs in all sectors. Within TechSF, there are numerous Bay Area providers that offer job training programs at no cost.
What is JVS’s role?
As a TechSF Hub, JVS connects each eligible applicant to a training provider whose program best fits their needs.
The TechSF Training Network
Each TechSF training provider plays a specialized role within the network including:
- Customizing services to make programs easier to access for diverse populations
- Focusing outreach and support on job seekers with barriers to employment and/or career advancement in tech
- Offering tech training that meets local labor demands and potentially leads to advanced skills training and a degree/certificate
Eligible participants receive all TechSF services and training at no cost. Through TechSF, hundreds of qualified workers have started new chapters at Google, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Twilio, Adobe, Twitter, Facebook, Okta, Macy’s, UCSF, San Francisco International Airport, Mozilla, Hack the Hood, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

What is TechSF?
TechSF is a job search program funded through the City of San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development in partnership with the Department of Labor. The goal of the program is to help individuals find good jobs in tech and in industries that hire tech talent. For those who qualify, it provides no-cost technical skills training and/or career services.
What does TechSF offer?
TechSF offers technical skills training and career services (1:1 career coaching, career workshops, resume review, etc.).
When do classes start and how long does training completion take?
This will vary with each TechSF partner organization.
Do I need my own computer?
For on-location training, computers will be provided. However, to continue working on building and honing skills on your own time, we recommend you have access to your own computer.You can work with your TechSF provider once enrolled to learn more about where you can find computers for a reduced cost.
Are there any scholarships available?
TechSF is a free program, scholarships are not necessary.
