Jewish Community Outreach Sr. Coordinator

 Summary of Position

Program:            Development & Marketing

Mission:             The Development Department is responsible for the agency’s fundraising, as well as external messaging and branding. Comprised of marketing, fundraising and volunteer programs, the Development Department raises $13 million annually to support the work of JVS.  This position coordinates JVS program outreach and client engagement initiatives serving the Bay Area Jewish Community

Principal Relationships:

  • Reports to: Vice President, Development & Marketing
  • Collaborates with: Development & Marketing Team, Program Staff,

Scope:

  • Strengthen JVS relationship with Bay Area Jewish Community organizations
  • Coordinate and deliver the Kohn summer internship program
  • Support JVS individual/community donor engagement and volunteer activities
  • Support Jewish Community donor stewardship
  • Manage Fee-for-Service offerings to Jewish organizations
  • Support agency wide client recruitment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Community engagement and outreach campaign experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a performance and outcome oriented environment
  • Public speaking, training and facilitation experience

Preferred Qualifications 

  • BA/ BS degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in program planning, coordinating, implementation, and assessment
  • Demonstrated community leadership
  • Extensive and in-depth understanding, and connection to the Bay Area Jewish community
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or donors

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ ESSENTIAL

Jewish Community Outreach:

  • Create and maintain connections with Jewish community organizations; promote JVS Services and identify new program opportunities
  • Create and deliver client outreach and engagement activities for Jewish communities, including public workshops and other events, social media and marketing campaigns
  • Develop, implement and monitor outreach plan for all Jewish community programs
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of success of outreach and engagement activities and adjust activities based on assessments

Kohn Program Coordination:

  • Conduct outreach, marketing and recruitment of Kohn Summer Intern Program candidates and participating Jewish Agencies
  • Plan, recruit and implement the full summer experience for the Kohn summer interns and supervisors, including orientation, Friday seminars, site visits and providing support for both host sites and interns.
  • Provide paperwork to Employer of Record (Signature Staffing); liaison between interns and Signature
  • Coordinate culmination luncheon, guest speakers and acknowledgement of interns and employers
  • Upon completion of program, conduct an annual program review and produce program report

Outreach Program Development:

  • Participate in the planning of new and existing community programs, including designing, implementing, performance monitoring and evaluating
  • Elicit partner feedback when developing new outreach strategies
  • Facilitate weekly welcome sessions for new clients

Jewish Community Donor Engagement:

  • Identify opportunities to connect individual donors and prospective donors through volunteer engagement
  • Steward small/mid-sum Jewish Community Donors
  • As appropriate, solicit mid-sum Jewish Community Donors

 Fee-for-service offerings:

  • Research and identify additional opportunities for fee-for-service offerings
  • Develop and pilot fee-for-service offerings to serve the Jewish community as appropriate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION 

This position will be working in a typical office setting, with no extremes in temperature or lighting.

  • Able to travel and present at offsite locations in the Bay Area
  • Able to transport/carry presentation materials
