Strictly Business Awards Luncheon

JVS believes that the best way to fight poverty is a job – and not just any job – a good job. On May 3, 2018, we gathered nearly 1,000 business and community leaders to celebrate what’s possible when people are able to build skills for in-demand jobs and transform their lives. With more than one million people in our Bay Area community struggling to survive on less than $30,000 a year, JVS is needed now more than ever.

Through the stories of Peter, Erica and Carlos, we saw how work can transform lives.

Thank you to every individual and sponsor that helped us to raise more than $1M to help more people in our community build skills and find work.

Business Leadership Award Winner

Kaiser Permanente was one of JVS’s first partners to replicate and expand JVS’s refresher training for certified Medical Assistants. The company has gone above and beyond to give JVS candidates the training, experience and connections JVS job seekers needed to secure positions at Kaiser.
